As a gesture to protect environment and empower the life of tribes and farmers, one of the leading architecture firm of Mumbai, Suresh Babu and Partners has initiated a program to plant 1, 00,000 trees through students, farmers and tribes. To mark the beginning of this noble cause 600 mango trees were planted in the Mande village of Palghar district on 5 th June 2016, World Environmental Day. In a simple function organised at this village shri Jaganath Save, Agriculture Scientist, shri Mahendra Vasandani renowned urban designer, Smt Jyothi Patil, Member of Panchayat Samiti, Shri Jayesh Patil, President of Mande Village, Shri Pranav Raut, Geologist and GIS Expert, Shri Suresh Babu, his wife Jayasree and daughter Sayujya, and hundreds of villagers attended. Suresh Babu is the founder and principal of renowned architectural firm Suresh Babu and Partners, having designed many iconic buildings in Mumbai and other parts of the country. They along with North arrow technologies and other experts have created various proposals to government to develop tribal areas and to develop the potential of ecotourism in the state. In his speech, Suresh Babu has requested all not to cut trees, not to pollute rivers, and not to damage natural equilibrium in the name of development. Shri Jaganath Save emphasised the importance of protecting nature. He explained to students and farmers how to nurture and protect plants and benefits of it. In the end Suresh Babu also spread awareness among the rural people about the need and significance of education and distributed notebooks to the students of Mande village.
